My name is Vanessa Barcus. After years of working for startups and building my own companies in fashion and retail, my passion is now helping others to share their unique vision with the world, through the lens of business and commerce. My work is collaborative, supportive and holistic in nature, and spans everything from creative direction to sourcing to “the numbers.” I can work with clients on both an a-la-carte/project or monthly program basis. Though I specialize in the fields of fashion, art and retail, I am not limited to those worlds. The insights I bring to the table are designed to help clients cultivate and clarify their own vision, using a combination of data, logic, experience and intuition. At the core, I believe that true creative inspiration comes when we channel a higher intelligence - where ideas flow effortlessly, and we can knowingly say “YES.” This is Creative Higher Intelligence.
— My Story
The consulting and advisory practice I have built comes after 15 years of combined experience in fashion, marketing and retail. The most notable of those was my boutique Goldyn, which for 11 years made a significant contribution to fashion in Denver. Goldyn consistently won awards and national media attention for its fashion-forward designer wares, but most importantly it became a hub for the creative community - a place that played host to art shows, concerts, women’s gatherings and many other iterations. I feel that what we built was truly special. I strive to help clients create similar meaning and beauty with what they do by nourishing their own creative vision. My experience via Goldyn is also backed by the financial know-how of my BA in Economics and MBA, as well as work in marketing, branding, and with several other successful start-up companies in the fashion industry.
